I shall be an author now

Once upon a time there was a small hamlet of a village, where in lived a handsome prince. He was a great dancer and loved to sing.

He spent his days writing stories of his amazing triumphs and heroics. In the evenings he would tell his stories to all who would listen.

The Prince's name was Me . . . Um . . . MEME . . . . Um . . . okay . . .it's me.

Anyway, this handsome Prince had two brothers. One who was crazy and one who was lazy. They alternated which days they would be crazy and which days they would be lazy, never BOTH being lazy or crazy on the same days . . . unless it was a leap year.

Each day was similar to the others. A routine of good food, good entertainment, court jesters, travelling players and some great HD sports on TV.

One day into this hamlet came a beautiful princess. She was cold and removed. She ignored Prince MEME, acting like she didn't see him. She didn't respond to the stories and songs. She pretended never to see the great dancing. It was as if there were a great glass wall between the princess and the Prince.

Prince MEME was confused for a long time. HOW could she not see him? Whenever she was in the hamlet he would go to great lengths to please her. He learned new jokes. He shared food. He danced intricate, complicated, Dancing with the Starts Pas de deuxs . . . and still . . . . nothing.

The wall appeared invisible . . .yet was also insurmountable.

The Prince could not understand it . . . and so he lay down and took a nap.

The best thing about when mom and dad go on vacation

It's when they come home and they feel guilty for leaving us on our own (with just Jordan to check on us.)

I LOVE it when they're feeling guilty! They let me stay up later. I'm allowed to walk on the tables and they hold me and cuddle me and let me sleep on their laps--even during dinner.

They coo sweet sweet words of love and support telling me how handsome I am and how talented I am and how I'm the most wonderful sweet sweet cat in the world.

I LOVE it!

Kittens are riffraff!

Mom was late coming home from work tonight. Something about an EXPO . . . ~~harumph~~ . . . and I smelled KITTENS on her . . .

She said there were kittens at the EXPO . . . I don't think she should hang around with riffraff.

Mom made Mickey pancakes this morning

I would have taken a picture, but dad has the camera.

He's in Washington DC. I think he's protesting something at the capital. He had posters in his suitcase. I saw them.

They said, "Down with this sort of thing."

And "Careful now."

I told Dad I could help. But he said, "Sometimes cats have to stay home and guard the fort."

So allright then.

I'm in charge!!

Chef Dougal

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=17700&l=0de9b&id=508528834

I am learning how to be the greatest chef in the world.

Shhhhhhhhh surprise!!

Okay--first of all . . Dad, "i'm sorry for that dagger scratch on your chest--I just needed to move quickly and forgot you weren't the couch."

Now for the good stuff! I whispered in Mom's ear that that Disney trip is just 5 days away!!! And she and I did a happy mouse dance and THEN we started talking about Les and Deb who are going to be there TOMORROW and stay through the weekend. We ordered them something special. Mom and Dad talked and i suggested some things and we ordered them a bottle of bubbly and a fruit and cheese tray to be delivered when they arrive . . . to have a MAGICAL anniversary.

Isn't that cool? Won't they be surprised?!

Mom reminded me that I am not going . . . the MOUSE apparently doesn't LIKE cats . . . ~~sigh~~ but Jordan is coming to take care of us and I like him. He's friendly and he knows a lot of good cat games to play.

And she got EXTRA tinned mice so we could have some treats while they were gone.

Party central. Sardines and full run of the house while they're gone. . . . that's okay mom. Take lots of pictures and I'll have fun running through the papers while you scrapbook it!

Five days.
Mom is excited.

It's FUN to see mom excited.

She and I were dancing dancing dancing while we waited for Dad to get home Friday night.

I love dancing.

Lately I've been wondering

What?
Why?
How?
Where?
When?
Who?
Well I know Who . . .

Horton hears a Who. . . .

Who's are in Whoville . . .

They like Roast Beast.

I like Sardines.

Trademark infringement!

I was browsing through one of the 12 catalogues that came in the mail yesterday and saw THESE!
I was stunned!
Taken aback!
Flattered. I look good, don't you think?
And OUTRAGED!!!!
That is ME on those plates and nobody asked. Nobody even said a THING about it.
That is Me. I recognize the svelt profile, the handsome tail and that is MY red collar!!!
