What is it?

This car keeps chasing me around the house. I don't understand it. It even goes under the Christmas Tree!

It is VERY annoying!

Santa visited our house!

And he gave me a pony pillow . . . . Argh!
And a penguin movie.

I like the pillow . . . and the movie. But I really intended to get something else. That man in the red suit is kind of tricky!

. . . . in any case.

It was a very nice Christmas. We had a fire in the fireplace all day and we played games, ate too much food and stayed up late watching movies. With the boys home, it's great! Because we watched James Bond instead of Pride & Prejudice. It's GREAT when the boys get to pick out the movies.

I love mom. . . . but she watches KNITTING ON TV!

:)

Happy Boxing Day

I didn't know that!

I was talking to Jon and told him that I really messed up asking for a pony or a penguin but not remembering which it was and I was very worried. Jon said, "It's okay. You can ask for both, you know."

I was stunned. REALLY? I could get a PONY AND a PENGUIN?

I ran to Jim. I asked him the same thing. Jim said, "Yep. And you can ask for a baby elephant too."

Well there's no sense being greedy.

But just to be sure I went to Dad. Dad looked at me sternly and said, "Of course you can ask for a penguin and a pony. It all boils down to are you naughty or nice anyway."

OH DEAR!!!!!!!!!

I forgot about that part.

I ran to mom and I was ever so sweet and asked if I could help cook breakfast. She told me thank you no, and please get off the counter.

I have to really think about how to be nicer.

It's just that . . . . well being naughty is just so EASY. And being nice takes work . . . .

~~sigh~~

A penguin, not a pony

Oh no.

Oh NO!

I think I wrote Santa the wrong thing!!!!

I think I told him to bring me a penguin--not a pony!!!! Oh no!

I wish I had a copy of that letter. I'm SURE I said Pony. I'm sure . . . .

Oh maybe not.

You see I was reading this book about Penguins and they looked so cute and friendly. I thought it would be nice to have a penguin friend. I really did.
Oh no oh no oh no . . . . sometimes I get words confused. Sometimes I'm THINKING Pony and I say penguin.

Oh no . . . . I want a pony for Christmas and now I'm going to get a penguin!

You have to be SO CAREFUL what you wish for. If you say the wrong thing, the wish is used up and you've got a penguin.

Jim's Home!

He's BACK!

And he brought me lots of presents and photos. He said that there was this aquarium and it was really really big and then there was this Target store and it was underground and the city was 3 times the size of Detroit! And there were people everywhere and there were Christmas trees and holiday music. JUST LIKE HOME!

~~sigh~~

I'm glad Jim's back.

That means we're closer to Christmas and I'm GETTING A PONY!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Buddha Saying

Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened.Happiness never decreases by being shared.

Chester says I must learn the concept of sharing. He says sharing doesn't reduce what I have, but enlarges it.

I think Chester watches too many kung fu movies.

Georgia on my mind

He went to Georgia? Seriously?
By himself?

To see a girl?

Sheesh . . . he really should have brought me along in the carry on luggage. I'm very good with chicks.

Here today . . . gone tomorrow.

Jim is home! Jim is home! Jim is . . .

what do you MEAN you took Jim to the airport?

Jim comes home and you take him to the AIRPORT!! That makes no sense.

Jim . . . get home. I mean seriously. You didn't give me hardly any pets. You were barely here 16 hours!

I SAID I was sleeping!

For a little guy you make a LOT of noise.

Now beat it!

It's cat nap time.

See clearly, there's a pattern

1. Sleepy Cat.
2. Smart Cat.
3. Bowl.
4. Great place to take nap.

What?

Yes, I know this bowl was just washed. Why do you think I selected it to sleep in?

Sheesh.

Mom's home sick

Mom is home sick today.
I'm sorry she has a cold, but I'm glad she's home. It's really really really really really really nice to cuddle up next to someone who is running a fever and watching movies.
a) they don't move around alot
b) they're really warm
c) they appreciate me and all my lovey dovey dovey cuddy cuteness.

I love being appreciated.

I'm getting a pony

Dear Santa

I have been very good this year. (You won't be checking with mom, will you?)

I have . . . um . . . I've given comfort and purrs to Dad and some for mom (If Dad is out of town).

I'm helpful . . .(I think I'm helpful anyway). I help out around the house. I take care of loose objects that are just laying around and put them where they won't bug people. (Under the rug, the radio, the sofa or the buffet).

I've been very good about attending Socrates Club and doing my homework assignments. I've learned lots about important things like . . . um . . .well

Happiness! I learned about that.

And . . . . magic. I think we talked about that once or twice.

I've learned some new things this year, like how being happy today is more important than all the cat nip in the world.

And I've learned that you CAN teach old dogs new tricks, you just may need a squirrel to help you.

And . . . let's see . . . well . . . I also learned that being healthy trumps driving a Cadillac. (at least most days.)

So.
Since I've been very very very good, Mr. Fat Man in a Red Suit, I think I deserve a pony.

Love love love
Dougal

Happy Cat Dancing

Jon comes home this weekend! Hip hip Hooray!!!!!
this means I will have someone to play with all day and I won't have to wait for mom and dad to get home before I find someone warm to cuddle up to while they read or watch TV.

Yea! Yea!
